3. Visual Management and Performance Boards with Power BI
- Live, trustworthy visual boards — replace manual boards and static reports with interactive Power BI dashboards that update automatically, eliminate transcription errors and make performance signals reliable.
- Faster, data-driven problem solving — Obeya-style layouts, drill-downs and Copilot-assisted analysis accelerate root-cause discovery and help teams act during daily reviews.
- Scalable & governed delivery — reusable PBIX templates, robust data-pipeline patterns and dataset security (RLS, refresh strategy) let you roll out consistent, maintainable boards across sites.
Introduction
This two-day, hands-on workshop teaches operational leaders, Lean coaches and analytics teams to create live, decision-ready performance boards using Power BI. We translate Lean visual management principles into practical dashboard design and data-architecture patterns so your boards drive daily management, problem solving and continuous improvement — without the heavy manual work of physical boards.
Day One focuses on mapping Lean objectives to dashboard KPIs, connecting and modelling data from shop-floor and office systems, and building effective visualisations that surface exceptions and lead indicators. Day Two concentrates on designing Obeya-style digital rooms, embedding analytics into routine reviews, and using Copilot-powered analytics to speed root cause analysis and hypotheses testing. Throughout the workshop you’ll work from a real process example, producing reusable Power BI templates, data-pipeline patterns and an Obeya layout that your teams can operate and sustain.
What you’ll get: a working Power BI solution (PBIX) for an Obeya board, reusable visual and data templates, Copilot prompt library for exploratory analytics and root-cause investigation, a deployment checklist, and a 30/60/90 rollout plan for operationalising digital visual management.
